Stunning young Irish songstress Donna Marie is becoming quite an overnight pop sensation. “Overnight” if you leave out the fact that it is twelve long years since she first stepped on stage (aged just eleven) with her bass guitar and distinctive voice to join the family band. Donna Marie is a 24-year-old mother of three young children whose passions are family and music.

The “livewire” from Wexford went forward to audition for RTE TV’s “All-Ireland Talent Show” – and from thousands of entrants across all forms of entertainment she finished an amazing 5th in the 2009 final. The show judges described her as “the amazing chanteuse from south east of Ireland” & “the most polished talent on the show”.

Donna Marie benefits from having been surrounded by music since her birth. Her parents reared her on “country” music, but like all young people her own interest in genres expanded as she grew up. In her personal life Donna Marie’s main passion is for her children, although music definitely comes a very close second. She is an amiable, almost shy young woman who seems to lose any inhibition onstage, TV or radio and blows everyone away with the powerhouse voice coming from her tiny frame.

Her inherent caring nature was highlighted when little Madeleine McCann went missing. Donna Marie penned the song ‘Little Angel’ with her partner Michael Cloke. The song proved to be a huge success and served to raise both substantial money and awareness on the topic of abducted children.

Donna Marie’s musical aspirations are very much on an up. She is making the transfer from a talented and key band member (bass player and co-vocalist with Breeze52) to a solo artist.

She has recorded her debut album “My Voice” for release later in the year.

She has just released her debut single “SIMPLE SONG” independently on Friday 23rd of April 2010.

Sunday May 9th: Donna Marie and her band will provide the half time entertainment for the capacity 18,000 attendance at the crucial Leinster v Edinburgh Magners League rugby showdown in the RDS.

Friday May 28th: Donna Marie and her band are in concert at the Hotel Rosslare in Wexford

Saturday May 29th: Donna Marie and her band are in concert at the Colfers, Carrig-on-Bannow in Wexford

More concerts are being booked at present and Donna Marie is the support act for headliner Brian Kennedy at this years JFK Dunbrody Festival in Newross, Co. Wexford in July
